Here's a neat little web link that's a slight variation on the default "Map" web link. When you click on the web link, it will take you to Yahoo! Driving Directions with the address on your salesforce.com user profile as the starting point and the contact address as the destination.

http://maps.yahoo.com/dd?cn={!User_Country}&csz={!User_City}+{!User_State}+{!User_PostalCode}&addr={!User_Address}&tcountry={!Contact_MailingCountry}&tcsz={!Contact_MailingCity}+{!Contact_MailingState}+{!Contact_MailingPostalCode}&taddr={!Contact_MailingAddress}

You could easily modify this into a driving directions web link and put it on the Account page layout instead.

Great link but unfortunately for us peasants in the rest of the world, Yahoo only offers directions for US & Canada

Paul - where are you located? If you can find a website that provides online maps/driving directions for other continents (i.e. Europe), then you should be able to create a similar type of web link.

I recently had to create a multi national map WIL; this is my web link:

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=search&country={!Account_BillingCountry}&address={!Account_BillingAddress}&city={!Account_BillingCity}&state={!Account_BillingState}&zipcode={!Account_BillingPostalCode}=Get+Map

Specifically the UK I've found the most accurate maps to be from multimap, using the postcode as the input field. This is the multimap web link.
